Hi Folks,
This weekend was most productive. Friday, we were expecting a very rainy weekend. As always, the Lord provides... Sunny the whole time - allowing me to finish my community service leadership project required for Eagle Scout rank. Saturday, there were 6 guys to help - and it took 6 hours to do what we had left to do. We put it together, painted, dug holes, and put it in the ground. Oh yeah - the structure is an information center for our square. I worked with Jenny from Main St. Laurens USA. (mainstreetlaurens.org) Anyway, it all went well and we got it finished up.
After all of that, I had a relaxing visit with Barbara & Jim (ok, and the poodle, who never tires) We played old tunes and talked about all kinds of things. Always great to visit friends.
Sunday, It was church and then a birthday party for Nanny. We all went to her new house for a great afternoon. We had burgers and homemade ice cream. Everyone enjoyed playing with the baby, and there was lots of music - Nanny on dulcimer and piano, Owen with bass, Sue with fiddle, Dad with guitar, Hunter with dobro and 12-string, different folks with the washboard, me with the banjo. Its so awesome to be in a musical family.
I made it back to school about 8:30.
